SHOREVIEW, Minn. (March 30, 2016) – WinField has expanded its Canadian product portfolio with the recent registration of Ascend™ SL plant growth regulator by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. As part of WinField’s diverse lineup of field-proven products, Ascend™ SL can help optimize yield potential through a proprietary blend of three plant growth regulators.
Ascend™ SL is a soluble liquid plant growth regulator that contains an optimal combination of cytokinin, gibberellic acid and indolebutyric acid that can fuel early plant germination and emergence.
“Using the right plant nutrition tools from the start of the season can be key for optimizing every acre,” says David Van Dam, Marketing Director, WinField. “We are thrilled to grow WinField’s product offerings in Canada by including Ascend™ SL, to provide farmers with a foundation they can build on all season long.”
Years of research shows that Ascend™ SL plant growth regulator can increase yield potential when applied in-furrow for corn at planting. Three years of field trial data from almost 200 locations showed that when combined with zinc 10% and a starter fertilizer (10-34-0), Ascend™ SL generated an average corn yield response of 4.8 bushels per acre more than in starter fertilizer applications without Ascend™ SL in trials across the United States.
In addition, Ascend™ SL plant growth regulator can be applied in combination with other seed treatments to help wheat crops with early season vigor, so they can withstand yield-limiting stresses throughout the growing season.
WinField is currently the largest distributor of crop protection products in the United States and is focused on expanding its offerings throughout Canada. In addition to Ascend™ SL, WinField offers Canadian farmers proven products for a variety of crops, including InterLock® drift reduction aid, MAX-IN™ micronutrients and CROPLAN® seed.
“WinField is committed to addressing the unique challenges of Canadian farmers,” says Van Dam. “We look forward to introducing more innovative products and solutions to help farmers optimize yield potential.”
