WinField Bolsters Decision Ag Technology and Data Team

SHOREVIEW, Minn. (August 11, 2015) — WinField, a leading provider of seed, crop protection products and agronomic expertise, has announced four personnel changes to its agronomy and product development team aimed at bolstering the company’s technology and data capabilities.

Joel Wipperfurth has been promoted to ag technology applications lead. In this position, Wipperfurth will evaluate new precision ag technologies, track the rapidly evolving competitive landscape of ag technology, and identify and develop new strategic partnerships. He will also serve as the WinField spokesperson, positioning the company in the ag technology/precision ag marketplace. Wipperfurth will split his time between the WinField office in Shoreview, Minn., and out in the field working directly with WinField retailers. Previously, Wipperfurth served as a WinField master agronomy advisor team lead in southern Minnesota. 

Amanda Neely has been promoted to ag technology operations lead. In this role, Neely will lead the execution of the WinField ag technology program and provide influence, direction and strategy for the current ag technology pipeline and long-term plans in this area. She will work closely with program stakeholders to ensure the WinField ag technology vision is executed and brought to market. Neely’s focus will be on business strategy and ensuring synergy between all WinField ag technology products. Previously, Neely served as ag technology operations manager for WinField. 

John Kinnard has been promoted to senior manager statistical services. In this position, Kinnard will manage various team members and also serve as a member of the WinField Agronomy and Product Development team. He will continue to play a vital role in assessing WinField Answer Plot® data, working with his team to build the best data set possible to drive insights. He will also develop new tools and methods to help the WinField retail sales force optimize its use of data.

Andrew Hartman joins the team as an ag tech system support specialist, assisting members of the field staff as they use the WinField R7® Tool, and introducing other ag tech solutions into the selling process. WinField now has two full-time support specialists to aid a team of 24 ag technology specialists in assisting the WinField sales team and retail channel with technology product offerings.
