Answer Plot 2020: Different Format, Fresh Intel, Same High-Quality Data

Tractor in field

For 21 seasons, the WinField® United Answer Plot® program has delivered leading-edge agronomic insights live and in person at locations across the country. This year, we won’t be doing in-person group events as we have in the past. But rest assured that the Answer Plot program will deliver as strongly as ever through multiple virtual events hosted by our WinField United agronomy team.

Here’s some of what you can expect from the Answer Plot program in 2020.

1. Delivering information the way you want it.

We’ll use multiple formats to communicate with you, including video, email and tech bulletins. And we’ll do three things to make certain you get the information you need:

  • Equip our local agronomists with cameras to capture what’s happening in the field and deliver pertinent observations.

  • Get information to you in a timely manner so you can use it to help inform your management decisions throughout the season.

  • Coordinate efforts so that you and your retailer have access to a broader view of what’s occurring at Answer Plot locations regionally.

2. Presenting hyperlocal content.

Our Answer Plot program represents an ongoing investment, and our 2020 test plots are going on as planned to provide you with the latest in-field insights. We are being proactive about getting more data and observations to you from your local Answer Plot location, realizing that you need to balance what’s happening locally with our overall data set and analysis. Our agronomists and technology experts will help you distill that information and remove the “noise” that doesn’t pertain to what you’re looking for but still gives you a basis for comparison.

3. Shining a light on product placement.

This year, we’re complementing our Answer Plot trials with Innovation Trials, where our most innovative retailers will go on-farm to conduct large-scale trials. These select retailers and their farmers are combining our data set with product performance results so you can place products effectively to enhance both return on investment (ROI) and yield potential.

4. Driving home the importance of the Fundamental 5.

We’ll continue to stress the importance of these five fundamental decisions you can’t skip if you want to set your crops up for optimal profitability potential at harvest: placing seed and traits correctly, establishing strong stands early, targeting herbicide applications to start with clean fields, optimizing in-season plant nutrition, and using fungicide applications to boost plant health and ROI potential. We’ll review these fundamentals and demonstrate how to put them into action.

5. Advancing the acre with a new program.

Last year, we introduced the Advanced Acre™ Rx program — an agronomic prescription service built around how and where you farm. Designed for corn and soybeans, this opportunity includes a season-long plan driven by 6 million annual data points from our Answer Plot network. The Advanced Acre Rx program drives a return on farmers’ input investments and offers a service warranty for performance (yield) to give them the confidence to invest even in tough economic times. This year, our agronomists will demonstrate this service through the Answer Plot program and share updates virtually so you can determine whether you want to pursue it next season.

WinField United has quality data that’s poised to help you focus your decision-making and put the right product in the right place at the right amount to get an optimal return. See how 2020 can turn out to be a strong year for you. Contact your local retailer to find out how you can get timely insights from the Answer Plot program throughout the season.

Important: Before use always read and follow label instructions. Crop performance is dependent on several factors many of which are beyond the control of WinField United, including without limitation, soil type, pest pressures, agronomic practices, and weather conditions. Growers are encouraged to consider data from multiple locations, over multiple years, and be mindful of how such agronomic conditions could impact results.
