About Us
Winfield United for a Better Community is a not for profit organization of concerned
citizens whose purpose is to keep abreast of, and promote public awareness of issues
that affect the quality of life in and around Winfield. We are not sponsored by any one
individual, political party, candidate, or company. We are from diverse neighborhoods
and enjoy different lifestyles but are united in our aspiration to preserve and improve
the attributes and quality of life that attracted us to this community. We are also united
by our belief that village government and management should be respectful and
responsive to the opinions and desires of the residents.

Vision Statement
Our future vision is that Winfield will maintain it's uniquely attractive balance of
diverse neighborhoods as it continues to develop and grow. Residents will become
better informed about issues that impact their Village and will become more active
in improving their community through volunteer projects and participation in local
elections. We believe that the Winfield United organization will be an important bridge
to this future Winfield.

Mission Statement
We desire to protect those qualities that attracted us to Winfield and will promote
improvements consistent with those qualities by providing a forum for discussion
and dissemination of information, encouraging voter participation, and volunteering
for community projects.

Principal Activities

1. Communication
   1. Increase awareness about actions/decisions of the Winfield government.
   2. Provide information to residents on community issues.
   3. Provide a forum for discussion of issues for all residents.
2. Civic Involvement
   1. Encourage residents to become engaged/involved on a regular basis.
   2. Support and advocate open village government.
   3. Work to elect a village government that encourages and respects
      resident input.
3. Community Projects
   1. Identify and initiate projects that benefit the community.
   2. Recruit and organize volunteer teams to work on those projects.
   3. Support and aid in community projects initiated by village government
      and other groups seeking to improve the quality of life in Winfield.
